All community theatre directors (and even some pros) have been there. One of the auditioners is a good friend or relative. What happens if you cast him or her? What happens if you don’t? Either way, you may have a problem. The Geeks explore this perennial problem and offer some suggestions to other agonizing directors.

More often than not to mix family or relatives with business can be a disaster. But for selecting such for a role could be damed if you do damed if you don’t. I think one solution to this delema is stick to the truth. If that particular family member or relative shows potential and committed than it could be a go if not than it’s a no go.
